Three hand-tied bundles
Three bundles of California white sage, Salvia apiana, each rolled by hand and tied with cotton thread. Each one measures about 4 to 5 inches long and 1 to 1.5 inches wide.
These are for burning as a sahumerio, a custom kept in many Mexican homes, not for the cup. You light one end, let it catch, then blow out the flame so the leaves smoke, and you carry the bundle through the room over a dish. The bag says the cotton thread leaves no burnt smell of its own. When you are done, press the lit end into sand or a fireproof dish until it goes out.
In the YERBERO catalog, Atado de salvia blanca is filed under S in the herbolario A–Z, next to Salvia blanca en hoja.
