Whole leaves, counted by the bag
Inside the bag are whole dried soursop leaves from Mexico, wildcrafted, as the bag says. The 1.05 oz bag prints a cocimiento: four to five leaves in a cup of water, brought to a boil and simmered 15 to 20 minutes, then left off the heat another 5 to 10 before you strain. The 0.75 oz and the pound bags print a shorter steep, a tablespoon in a strainer under hot water, covered three to five minutes.
We sell five sizes, and four of them carry a leaf count: 120 or more leaves in the 1.05 oz bag, 330 in 4 oz, 660 in 8 oz and 1,300 in a pound. At five leaves a cup, the pound bag holds more than 250 cups. If this is your first bag of guanábana, the 0.75 oz size makes about 20 servings and tells you whether the pound is worth it.
In the YERBERO herbolario, Hoja de guanábana is filed under G in the herbolario A–Z, next to Hoja de guayaba.
