White sage for the cup
California white sage, Salvia apiana, fills this 2 oz bag as whole and cut dried leaves. The bag shows no method we can read, and the product description gives this one: one tablespoon to 10 oz of boiling water, left to stand a couple of minutes before you drink. The bag describes a penetrating aroma and a spicy edge in the cup.
This bag is the leaf for drinking. The same plant appears in our catalog twice more, ground fine for seasoning and tied into bundles for burning, and only this one is sold for the cup. If what you want is a pinch of sage for a pork dish, reach for the ground bag instead, and keep this one next to your kettle.
In the YERBERO herbolario, Salvia blanca en hoja is filed under S in the herbolario A–Z, next to Salvia blanca molida.
