Cut herb for the strainer
Milk thistle, Silybum marianum, comes cut and dried in a 2 oz resealable bag from Mexico. The bag prints a short steep: one tablespoon in a strainer in a mug or teapot, hot water poured over it, and the cup covered three to five minutes before you lift the strainer out.
At 30 or more cups to the bag, a cup a day lasts you about a month. The herb is cut, not powdered, so a mesh strainer or the basket of a teapot is all the gear you need. Between scoops, press the air out and zip the bag: the seal is the only lid it needs, and the bag takes little room beside your other teas.
In the YERBERO collection, Cardo mariano is filed under C in the herbolario A–Z, next to Chapulines adobados.
